When our longtime San Francisco client purchased this 1950’s Northern California beach house it was outfitted with original dark wood paneling and stained glass windows. Our California interior designers reimagined the space to integrate our client’s modern aesthetic while bringing in more natural light and highlighting the incredible Pacific ocean views. A light, textural palette is used throughout with white oak floors and ceilings, board formed concrete and raked white tile in the bathrooms.
The interiors feature a mix of modern furniture and lighting alongside sculptural, vintage pieces that give a nod to the home’s mid-century California roots. Vintage Charlotte Perriand leather dining chairs are paired with a clean-lined table and Holly Hunt chandelier in the dining area. Our team of San Francisco interior designers selected a contemporary sectional, carved wood coffee table and a Finn Juhl Pelican armchair for the living room space. The oversized island provides additional seating and prep space in the kitchen, which features concrete countertops and backsplash and plywood cabinets.
